Boracay

This is Tootsie. I will be living with her in her stunning home for the next period! :-)

We had a warm welcome and fresh coconut drink, when we came to our destination.

Merry X-mas, everyone! :-)

Arriving to Boracay. This will be my home for the next couple of weeks. P.s. I was told that the christmas tree has more than 2500 lights!
My first day here on Boracay and I'm being taught how to dress in a sarong.
Here's the result!

The infinity pool..

This is life!

Enjoying the sunset and the ocean view from the pool

"If you were a sailboat I would sail you to the shore.."

Dinner and cocktails on the beach.
It's amazing to wake up to this beautiful beach!! No wonder why it's called 'the White Beach' and is awarded one of the world's most beautiful.

Christmas came early this year. Thanks to Roxy and Quiksilver Women Denmark for a good year and for lots of goodies!

JangJang showing off on his skimboard.
Mmh, coconuts!
The front of our house :-)

Getting around on the island is easier on a motor bike.

Thinking that a dip in the ocean will cool you down doesn't really work when the water temperature is almost the same as the air.

This is actually all you really need to have plenty of fun and adventures.
Of course it helps with a pair of fins as well!
Off we go.

We rented a little boat to take us around the island - such a great experience!

The island is not super big, so sailing around Boracay only takes around 2 hours.

It's always good to make new friends. :-)

.. and teaching them "hang loose!"
Registration day! We just got our equipment, and everybody is going on the water preparing for the race to start tomorrow.

This is my baby! :-)
Going for a sunset session.
England, Spain and Denmark ready for the Opening Ceremony and Parade

Fire dancers performed a really funny and cool show after the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 RS:One World Championships

The race is on! We are 50 participants from 16 different countries who will be racing in the crystal clear waters around Boracay the next  days.

It's such a great feeling to be able to windsurf in only boardshorts and lycra!

It rains on Boracay too. - Of course! Otherwise the island wouldn't be so green.

Dad was out in the boat keeping a weather eye on me during the races.

We had all kind of conditions during the week: super light wind, high wind, onshore and offshore, sunshine and rain.

One of the many different race courses.

I sometimes had to write down the course on my arm to make sure I remembered it correct out on the water.

In between most of the races we were given some time to come back to shore to recharge our batteries. I personally find racing under the burnin' sun and in 35 degrees much more challenging than racing in the cooler conditions back home.

I got a cramp in my arm, but luckily my dad was always out in a boat, so he helped me a lot before the next race.

DEN 92! :-)
It's good to escape from the sun and hide in the shade.
This is the rigging zone
Stickers!!
Roxy came to Boracay!
Nothing better than a massage after windsurfing.

I met super nice people on Boracay; Marina Alabau, 2012 Olympic gold medalist, and her little sister, Blanca. Both really sweet girls and great windsurfers. I learned a lot about racing from them during the World Cup.

Tootsie arranged a fabulous dinner and party. Here in good company with some lovely ladies; Nenette, Olympic bronze medalist, Bryony Shaw and Tootsie. Thanks for a great evening!

Nina and Neil Pryde also attended the dinner.

Sailing at sunset. Beautiful!

Tootsie and I on the beach. The christmas decoration in the background is typical Philippine style made out of secondhand stuff and empty coke cans.

You know you are in Paradise when waking up in the morning is better than dreaming at night. ;-)

I love drinking coconut!

And then my boyfriend, Nagai, came to celebrate christmas with me in Paradise!

Relaxing and enjoying life in a hammock.

One of many perfect sunsets here in the Philippines.

Nagai and Tootsie enjoying a mango shake and homemade banana bread on the terrace.

More cruising around the island!

A lovely life in bare feet!

Snorkling and finding beautiful shells

OK!
